City boy, country girl.

Imagine a hypothetical place where the newspaper is a thin weekly, the mayor’s home address and phone number are on the town website, and dial-up still runs the show. Imagine this same place with a single AM station, more than a few gossip mavens, and a four mile drive to get the national daily papers.

Imagine a different hypothetical place where the newspapers have morning and afternoon editions with six figure circulations, rammed FM dials, and more broadband providers than you’ve got fingers and toes. Imagine this same place with a hundred public libraries, a smattering of public and private universities, and public transit information in five dozen languages.
