Women of Courage Tour 2012

I just had to break my summer blogging hiatus for this one. I’m busy tap tapping away working on media support for a series of work events and it occurs to me that this is just the sort of thing my Communications colleagues might find interesting. With our work on the Global Media Monitoring Project and communications rights, it strikes me that we should really celebrate when things come together in these precious moments where people get to tell their own stories on their own terms. The KAIROS series of Women of Courage tours are just that. My colleagues connect with and support global partners on Canada-wide tours where women of courage can bring to life for their audiences all the things that make our world so tough and so remarkable. On this iteration, they’ll be going to Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and finally to Saskatchewan to speak about their experiences of gender violence, conflict, militarization and colonization, as well as their roles in building peace in their communities and beyond.

Check out the KAIROS website to meet Claudia and Lucy and see if you can join us for one of their local events!
